WOW Design’s Casablanca New Tile Collection Features North African Artisanal Elements
WOW Design, an artisan ceramic studio, presents Casablanca, a collection rooted in the artisanal universe of North Africa and inspired by adobe architecture, vibrant pigments, and handcrafted textures. Casablanca revives the spirit of previous WOW collections like Zellige and Fez, reimagined from a contemporary perspective with shapes and finishes that expand the ceramic language.
This latest collection celebrates the beauty of imperfection, the warmth of handcrafted pieces, and the expressive power of design with character. Available in both matte and gloss finishes, its surface becomes a ceramic skin that invites touch, reflects or softens depending on the light, and transforms the space into an expressive, sensory environment.
The Casablanca collection consists of three distinct pieces that can be combined to create compositions full of rhythm, texture, and movement. The base piece, a 5×15 cm rectangle, conveys a strong artisanal essence through its slight size variations, reminiscent of traditional handmade tiles. This subtle irregularity enhances its authentic, natural character and brings warmth to every surface.
The oval piece introduces a formal variation that adds softness and dynamism to the composition. Its elongated, rounded shape creates a more fluid visual rhythm, breaking the linearity of the layout. When integrated into wall coverings, it enables smooth transitions and adds subtle contrast, enriching the visual experience.

The “Comb” tile design features a wavy relief, a shape that mimics the look of wind-swept sand patterns.
Meanwhile, the Comb piece features a wavy relief that transforms ceramics into a moving topography. Its shapes evoke wind-swept patterns in the sand, creating a shifting play of shadows that changes with light and perspective. This piece offers visual depth and unique character, turning walls into living, expressive surfaces.
Casablanca offers a color palette full of personality: Adobe, Mint, Ash, Kohl, Lime, Water, Azure, and Basil. These shades engage in a dialogue with earth, sky, sea, and Mediterranean vegetation, allowing for both monochromatic applications and bold contrasts that create spaces with identity and visual storytelling. The combination of the three shapes—base, oval, and comb—multiplies design possibilities, enabling the creation of surfaces full of nuance, rhythm, and depth.
