WOW Design Presents Architectural Tile Solutions at Coverings 2025
WOW Design showcased its signature tiles during Coverings 2025 with a new booth design by Summumstudio, which happily received a Best Booth Award by show organizers.
The new design for the stand took visitors on an immersive journey of discovery, introducing them to WOW’s range of products and ideas in an experience with strong architectural connotations. In the words of its designers, the aim was to achieve “a change in the presentation of the collections, capable of bringing about a change of scale”.
WOW showcased several new collections — collections that offer an innovative insight into architectural tile solutions, allowing for the creation of all kinds of volumes, vertical and horizontal compositions, patterns and designs, color transitions and bit-inspired technological designs, among other possibilities.
The Reef collection, new 3D screen tiles
Reef, the new screen tile collection used to create the stand, comes in sandy matt shades evocative of nature. The collection stands out for the fact that the screen tiles can be combined with flat tiles from WOW’s other collections. Models from the Roots, Abbey Stone, Halo and Cross Cut series fit into the square hole in the 3D tiles, allowing walls to be built with interacting light, color and transparencies. Reef is made of extruded stoneware with a perforated inner core. The 11x11cm square tiles come in two possible thicknesses, 4.5 cm or 11 cm, depending on the intended volumetric effects.
Yoko, delicate ceramic origami.
Yoko is inspired by delicate Japanese origami. Through the different angular relief designs on the tiles, they emulate the paper folds used in this age-old technique, decorated with glossy crystalline glazes whose colors are paler along the represented folds. Yoko comes in a total of eight different origami relief designs, ensuring rich expressiveness. The six different colors are typical of traditional Japanese ceramics and nature’s most elementary colors.
Spike Bars, unique geometries
Wow Design’s new collection, Spike Bars, is all set to amaze. It is a modern twist on the well-known Sweet Bars series in a highly unusual new shape: a ceramic parallelogram with a diagonal relief pattern that follows the sloping edges of the tiles. Through the volumetric interplay of its transversal relief pattern, highly expressive, bold-looking, original effects can be achieved. The collection comes in nine restful autumnal colors, ranging from beige or earthy shades to blues and greens in both a matt and a glossy finish.
Trencadís, a modern reinterpretation of Modernism. Trencadís is a collection inspired by the art technique in which broken tile pieces are used to create decorative compositions. The technique is associated above all with Modernist architecture and Art Nouveau. WOW has reinterpreted it, allowing you to revel in this richly expressive artistic trend. The collection’s Gaudí and Guell models come in a wide choice of colors, with assorted relief patterns.
3D Bars, for settings with a buzz.
3D Bars is a collection made up of a three-dimensional tile model with a strong personality and equally strong geometrical relief pattern on its surface, with a vibrant, dynamic effect. Its small, repetitive relief pattern triggers interplay with light and shade. Various different options are available: a diamond-tip relief pattern and a beveled one. 3D Bars comes in a glossy finish for bolder souls and a matt one for creating more restful settings in a selection of nine colors.
